Retention – as seen from both sides With Lindsay Gordon
Founder of A Life of Options
__
Lindsay is an award-winning career coach for analytically minded people with her own consultancy: ‘A Life of Options’ (www.alifeofoptions.com). She helps people structure their thinking so they can be DECIDED in their careers, and move forward to explore, experience, and live life. Waffling about career decisions (sometimes for 10+ years!) is an unacceptable barrier to people doing what they want to do and feeling fully alive.
Lindsay started her career working as a recycled water engineer in Melbourne, Australia before landing at Google doing technical support for the Google Apps team. After 5 years of technical support, she transitioned into career development at Google before starting her own business.
In 2021, Lindsay was named to the Forbes Next 1000 list and she has been featured in publications and podcasts such as Business Insider, Thrive Global, How to Be Awesome at Your Job, and Side Hustle School. Lindsay loves applying her engineering brain to helping people find careers that fit, baking complicated pastries, and barbershop singing.
With her experience and background, Lindsay had an insightful discussion with Keryn and Jamie which provided a view from both an employer and employee – sharing observations from both sides when it comes to decisions on careers and the pressure on both sides.
Our informed discussion includes:
- Helping employees who become disengaged
- The pressures & tension that employees feel regarding their career
- Why people are seeking a career change, post-pandemic
